Waffle House missing a Menu Item?

Lets transport ourselves back to a slower time, it’s the 1960’s, where life was a little slower and people moved a little slower. You're driving down the highway in the south and want a bite to eat on your trip, its between breakfast and lunch. The yellow sign calls you from the highway, forcing you to merge three lanes, just in time to roll into the Waffle House. You belly up to the counter, greeted with a smile, a cup of coffee and a menu. It looks similar to what we have today except one item, a chicken sandwich. This sandwich contained a fried chicken filet placed on a bun with three pickles. Waffle house had licensed its use from S. Truett Cathy, you may know that name from his mega chain he founded, Chick-fil-A. Thats right in the 1960s you could get a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich at waffle house, the choices on that menu were top notch. This was before Chick-fil-A was a thing and Cathy was trying to make money by licensing its use. I guess the higher ups at waffle house saw the sandwich being too popular and decided to cut ties with the sandwich to focus on waffles, which they have mastered. No need to drag on the story of the two chains and how they have grown and dominated their respective spaces since. Just wanted to drop this fun fact to those that didn't know.

*The information above comes from The Food that Built America on the episode about chicken chains.

One last thing to ponder, imagine the chicken and waffles that could have been with these chains combining forces?
