McDonald’s Breakfast
It has been awhile since I had McDonald's breakfast, but my memory was fond of the times I had been able to visit the arches before 10:30 (the all day breakfast was nice in college and those hash browns should be available 24 hours at the very least, right?). So as I opened the app, I thought about what I wanted to try and three things came to mind. The hash brown, Egg McMuffin, and a McGriddle.
Hash brown- What can i say? McDonald's knows potatoes, they do no wrong when it comes to their top two potato offerings, fries and hash browns. There is a slight onion taste to the hash browns but the crisp and texture is what diners, restaurants, and every other person that doesn't hold that recipe is trying to find. Need I say more? This is the crown, the king, the epitome of what a hash brown is. There is no other hash brown that compares, at least in patty form.
Egg McMuffin- Not sure if this is where the sum is better than the parts or each ingredient was planned so perfectly that the combination is the right mix. Every bite is flavorful in a way that has me rethinking things (I mean how can fast food taste better than what I make at home? it has to be MSG, it has to be). The Canadian bacon, fresh cracked egg (I have it on good authority they actually crack an egg into a cylinder each time), cheese, and McMuffin all come together in a euphoric symphony that excites my taste buds beyond what it should.
McGriddle- I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle because I love the sausage they have here and a greasy sausage patty is better than bacon in many scenarios. Not sure what mad scientist came up with this but they should be locked up. A genius idea putting syrup into the pancake like vessel I mean. Maybe I should be locked up for liking it, it really does have a texture that I don't necessarily like, but the taste gives me hope with what can be done with other combinations. I don't know if I should like this (I probably shouldn’t), but the ingredients make up a full breakfast that I can hold in one hand, so I am a fan. Wouldn't recommend this everyday but once in a while this can reset your ability to decide what breakfast can be and for that I recommend.
Not sure if the breakfast should be available 24 hours a day but this delicious menu is nothing short of dominant. No other fast food place touches them (I have not had a lot of the others, but cmon its McDonald's breakfast, are you crazy?). Its worth getting a few times a year but if you re hungry before 10AM, go and visit a local place and grab a sit down breakfast, or just go to a waffle house. I mean waffle house is much better, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
