Dagwood Tavern and Grill

A window into the past when you walk across the threshold of this place that you will soon be calling home. You will not want to leave as the other patrons, staff, and you will soon become best of friends. This places transports you back in time, to when things were simpler, a time when technology did not have our lives in a stranglehold. The single grill has been going throughout the many times I have ventured across the doorstep. The taps are flowing with a healthy amount of drinking occurring, it is a bar after all. You sit yourself down in what is most likely a ripped booth where a waitress will come over with some bright colored menus. In college I partook in the special being a beer, fries, and burger for five dollars. Now I go for a double cheeseburger with pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard. With just the right amount of grease, I am assuming from the 80/20 burger meat blend, these burgers are a view into a non pretentious world where, a burger is a burger. Not a symbol of something bigger or maybe a conversation starter into a world of gastronomy. No, this is a simple burger that warms you and allows you to enjoy something great without feeling too much about yourself. Cant recommended this place enough if you are lucky to be in East Lansing and have a hankering for a burger.
