Big Mac vs Whopper Taste Test

Big Mac Vs Whopper

Requested by one of our most loyal followers (you know who you are), we are going to submit ourselves to this test. Im left feeling conflicted if this should even be a question, I mean every time I eat Burger King I am left feeling a sudden bit of sorrow and pain following near after. Im not sure how but every time, and I mean every time my bowels are torn up after Burger King. After a full on spring break one year filled with the worst tequila we could find as that was what we could afford. A friend and I sat at the airport and decided we wanted to feel shittier, so where did we venture? One answer, Burger King.

Two titans clashing can be described as elephants running towards each other and the impact when they collide is undeniable, it shifts the ground underneath. Marketing plays a part in the story of these burgers and how they have become a staple in American culture. SO which one is better, that is all I am here to determine.

Let's start off with the ground rules, I have gotten one big mac and two whopper jr.’s, one with cheese and one without. The ingredients are the same in the jr.’s as the regular whoppers so this should not be a problem. I picked up the Burger King order about ten minutes before the McDonald’s so freshness is on McDonald's side. The scores on the burgers are on a fast food burger scale and not on a scale comparing them to every burger. Lets get into the burgers:

Big Mac 8.3/10

The pickles stand out in this burger with the blend of flavors complimenting each other in a way that make the sum very good. The secret sauce is very good and stands on its own very well. This burger has good taste and isn't too heavy making it a nice experience.

Big Mac

Whopper Jr. 2.2/10

You can taste the burger patty way too much and this is not a good thing. The fake flavors embodying the burger are going after a backyard burger taste, but they miss by a mile. The veggies are fresh and crisp, good overall on that side of the burger. This burger was not enjoyable and I would not get another one anytime soon, unless I wanted to feel bad and this is due to the patty taste. This burger can be described as disgusting and that is the only word that encompasses everything that is this burger.

Whopper Jr.

Whopper Jr with Cheese 7.6/10

Not sure how this taste is so much different than the non cheese whopper, but I'm glad it did. You taste less of the burger patty which is a blessing. The cheese masks a lot of the patty flavor, which is needed. Not sure how they put the whopper name on this burger as it far exceeds the regular tasting whopper. A completely different burger, if you are not getting cheese on the burger than I would have to assume you have some shit going on in your life.

Whopper Jr. with Cheese

The big mac wins big in this head to head taste test and it wasn't particularly close. The overall flavor was better and the feeling I had in my stomach after eating wasn't that of guilt and sorrow. The whopper has great marketing but unfortunately falls short and makes this competition give me a sense of David and Goliath, but one where Goliath has the rock bounce off him as if nothing hit him, it wasn't close, go grab a big mac and be glad you didn't get a whopper.
