Ten Best Appetizers, no arguments with this list…
Top ten Appetizers to start your meal off with:
1. Wings-Need I say more? The standard is the standard. An appetizer that is a meal for many and has inspired many restaurants off this one dish alone.
2. Charcuterie- If you’re trying to class it up then you order this while mispronouncing the name. The meat and cheese are the star of the show but the accoutrements elevate these boards above the rest.
3. Crab Rangoon’s- My go to appetizer for takeout at Asian restaurants. Sweet and creamy with a crunch, nothing more needs to be said.
4. Dumplings- Available at more places than Rangoon’s so they are high up on the list. I’ve heard easy to make but have yet to try myself. I go pork to get a salty flavor with a texture that some say is bad, those people would be wrong though.
5. Egg rolls- This is common at Chinese restaurants across America, but recently when going out I have seen some variations on these. Whether it be the original or the southwestern, Philly Cheesesteak, or whichever kind your having these tasty treats stack up against the rest quite well.
6. Queso dip- I like this cause of the variability. You got to a restaurant and you get the skillet that burns you every time, and you forget how hot it is every time. Maybe chorizo or some peppers are added to it. Also love the game day queso while watching football, a no brainer to appear on this list.
7. Pickle Fries- I could have said fried pickles but had to be specific here. If you have been fortunate to have these, then you know. You get more flavor from seasoning added to a batter. They are easier to hold and you get a whole basket which elevates them and puts them on the list.
8. Calamari- There couldn’t be an appetizer list without this appearing on the list, mutiny would’ve broken out. Fresh calamari, one of life’s great pleasures, hard to beat. Only reason it appears this low on this list is the variability of it I’ve had. Other things on this list have more variability but with this item the difference between great and good is not much, still a must have appetizer.
9. Buffalo Chicken Dip- Grown on me as I was hesitant at first with this dip. Now it’s a staple if it’s on the menu. Literally haven’t gone to a place and not loved it. Have made it for super bowl parties myself and it’s still great.
10. Fried Brussel Sprouts- This one would be higher on my personal list, but I know people would have revolted. Pan frying them, adding bacon, and maybe adding a balsamic glaze to these turns them from everyone’s least favorite vegetable into arguably my favorite appetizer/side
