I went into the store and picked up the kit and was surprised that they actually just put the kit into a brown paper bag. Was defiantly expecting a prepackaged kit but ending up seeing them jot around the restaurant to gather ingredients, it just meant more, I don't know how to word it, it just did.

When I finally decided that the day had come to make the coney kit, the first time trying this feat, I gathered the ingredients and set them up on the counter. Chopped the onions, steamed the buns, and boiled half the dogs while grilling the other half. The chili comes in a tube that looks like that of breakfast sausage from Bob Evans at grocery stores, the chili is very off-putting when first removing it from the container but after adding water and heating up, it starts to take form of what could be expected at a local coney.

Assembling the dog was straight forward, the steamed bun has a cooked hot dog placed in it which is then topped with chili sauce, mustard, and fresh chopped onion. The taste was as close as could be expected considering not being at a coney joint. Not the healthiest but who in their right mind would dive into this thinking it was, just be prepared for the heartburn.

The Chili that is off putting as it comes out of the tube, once mixed with water and cooked it returns to a more familiar form.
