Building the best Martini
No, I’m not a Mixologist but I make my Martinis my way and will not budge for less than that. There is no right way to make a cocktail just your way. James bond has his vesper and I’ll leave that to him as I will not be saving the world. My order is simple dirty martini stirred not shaken, using Tanqueray, my gin of choice. I used to like on the rocks but now I prefer in a martini glass.
How you make: Grab a container to stir in, whether that be the base of a Boston shaker I do not care. Grab some ice and throw it in and then grab your gin of choice, dry vermouth, and olives with the brine. Pour 2 to one gin to vermouth, whether that be 2 oz. to 1 oz. or maybe a double, how good of a day you had will determine that. A splash of olive juice in the shaker and stir the shaker with a bar spoon or usually I use a knife (no need to get fancy). Pour into a martini glass and then grab a toothpick, stab some olives and add to the drink for garnish. That’s the way I do it, see if you like it and adjust to your liking.
