Roland’s Seafood

The Order: Oyster Shooter, Old Fashioned, Oysters on the half shell, French Onion Soup, And Wood Fired Margherita Pizza

Atmosphere is relaxed with a nice bar that wraps around the middle, a Tito’s pool table in one of the corners, and an open view into the pizza and seafood kitchen. We started off by ordering drinks, I got an old fashioned which was delicious, then we doubled down on the drinks with some oyster shooters. That would-be vodka, bloody Mary mix, horseradish, and an oyster all in a shot glass to be taken just like a shot. I don’t think Roland’s put much if any cocktail/bloody Mary sauce in the shot though. Still, it was better than you think it would be, trust me.

The table then got six oysters on the half shell raw to slurp down, adding a little cocktail sauce with horseradish and a spritz of lemon before consuming them.

The French onion soup was hot and large, one of the more filling bowls of French Onion I had in the city.

I finished my meal off with a wood fired Margherita pizza, which had good flavor. Personally, would have preferred a little more sauce to get toward the edge with a little longer cook time giving a crispier crust.

Close up on Pizza

Overall the pizza was good, drinks were good, and the seafood was fabulous. Put this down as a place to stop while in the strip district to grab some fresh seafood.

Old Fashioned: 7.7/10

Oyster on Half Shell: 9.2/10 (would have loved a little Mignonette sauce)

French Onion Soup: 6.8/10

Pizza: 6.4/10

Overall: 7.6/10
