Big 3 Burger Chain Sauces Review
To dip or not to dip? That is the question we asked today and based on our review of the sauces that are offered at the big three burger chains, there are some that you should elect to not dip. This was an enormous undertaking that left me feeling terrible. I ate the nuggets from the respective places to their sauces. (ie. McDonald's sauces were eaten with McNuggets). Will be a bit before I go back for nuggets at any of these places but glad I could do this for all of you, Enjoy!
Wendy’s
Honey Mustard- Sweet and a little vinegar but hits the right notes. 6.8/10
Ghost Pepper Ranch- Taste like ranch with a little kick. 6.5/10
Buttermilk ranch- Pretty standard ranch, not a bad thing though. 6.7/10
Sweet and Sour- Taste like sweet Thai sauce, not terrible but is overly sweet. 5.8/10
BBQ- Taste close to bbq chip seasoning, very sweet. 7.1/10
Burger King
BBQ- Not much flavor overall besides sweetness. 3.8/10
Sweet and Sour- Not much flavor than cheap asian flavored sauce sweetness. 3.8/10
Buffalo- Hint of vinegar, no spice, not a great dipping sauce. 2.5/10
Zesty- Horseradish forward sauce, with not much else going on. 3.1/10
Honey Mustard- Lots of sweetness but not much flavor. 5.1/10
Ranch- Another bland sauce, subdued ranch flavor. 4.2/10
Marinara- So sweet and no real depth of flavor, still the best sauce somehow 5.2/10
Mcdonald’s
Honey Mustard- You actually get a good taste of honey with depth, could use more mustard taste. 6.1/10
Hot Mustard- No real heat, not much flavor other than vinegar. 5.2/10
Spicy Buffalo- Good flavor all around, hits every component of buffalo sauce. 7.7/10
Tangy BBQ- Surprisingly a depth of flavor not expected, hits good notes of bbq sauce found in stores. 7.6/10
Sweet and Sour- Mostly sweet asian style sauce with a little zing, not bad but wont be writing home about this one. 6.2/10
Ranch- Good ranch flavor, but subtle not strong. 6.3/10
Sweet and Spicy Jam- Thick, like very thick and sweet with a little hint of spice. 6.6/10
Mambo- Vinegar and heat from buffalo sauce with sweetness from sweet and sour sauce and also added bbq flavor. Surprisingly a great taste with a lot of different flavors. 8.1/10
