How are Oysters fished?

Dredging: A dredge is a large basket or rake that is dragged along the ocean floor to gather oysters. This is the most common method of oyster harvesting.
Aquaculture: Oysters can also be farmed in underwater cages or grown on ropes suspended in the water. This method allows for the cultivation of specific species of oysters and control of their growing environment.
Hand-tonging: In some areas, oysters can be harvested by hand using long-handled tongs. This method is typically used for smaller scale, artisanal harvests.
