Showcase BBQ

Showcase BBQ

Pittsburgh, PA

The order was

-Wings and Ribs (Sauce on the side)

-Mac and Cheese

-Collard Greens

-Baked Beans with meat (I assume brisket)

 -Cornbread

The meats were flavorful with a great balance of smoke, rub, and meat. A subtle smoke flavor comes through where you taste it, but it’s not all you taste. The ribs were the right consistency for me, in other words they don’t fall off the bone too easy. You could tell the Mac and Cheese was homemade with multiple cheeses, I do not have the palate to breakdown which ones. Collard greens (being something I rarely have found done well in my home state of Michigan when going out for BBQ) were tender, flavorful, and had a nice surprise of meat in them. The baked beans were sweet, would love a little heat (something I can add in myself) but I want them to keep making them the way they are because they are some of the best beans I have had in a while, sorry to that cute golden retriever in the Bushes adds. The cornbread was light and moist, how it should be, would have liked the option for plain white bread. The sauce has a mustardy sweetness to it but a complexity throughout that kept me on my toes, seriously wish they bottled this stuff up.

The food is good here, it’s a city spot, a neighborhood spot, and it feels welcoming every time I go. I’m no pit master but this BBQ is the real deal.
