How is Scotch made?

Scotch is made by distilling malted barley in copper stills and then aging the spirit in oak casks for a minimum of three years. The type of barley, the water used, the distillation process, and the aging conditions all contribute to the distinct flavors and characteristics of different scotch whiskies. After aging, the scotch is bottled and may be blended with other scotch whiskies to create a consistent taste profile.
